In-Q-Tel signs expanded license agreement with Traction Software

ImageProvidence, Rhode Island, June 13, 2002 - In-Q-Tel, a venture group funded by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has recently signed an expanded enterprise software license agreement with Traction® Software, Inc., providing use rights for the latest version and multi-year upgrades of Traction’s workgroup information-sharing software.

“Traction’s product is a valuable tool among our growing portfolio of cutting-edge technologies that benefit enterprises like the CIA,” said Gilman Louie, president and CEO, In-Q-Tel. “The value of Traction is that it makes collecting, organizing, and publishing information to the web or intranet as easy as using email.”

Traction delivers software that creates an information-sharing system for business teams that works like the web. With the introduction of Traction®TeamPage™, email and web browsers become powerful web publishing tools for business users. Current corporate Intranets are composed primarily of static web pages created with web authoring tools, structured data from enterprise systems and external feeds (news, stock quotes, weather, horoscopes, etc.). As a result, email has been the only realistic alternative for business teams to actively communicate and share information.

TeamPage plugs easily and cost effectively into any Intranet to create a contextual information hub for teams. Traction’s best-of-breed solution addresses the vital need for business users to provide up-to-date Intranet content, enabling teams to capture, use, and share their high-value information more efficiently.

“This agreement signifies the value In-Q-Tel sees in our product for its government customers,” said Tim Simonson, CEO, Traction Software. “Today, government and commercial users alike are seeking solutions that reduce cost and solve information management challenges using standardized web technology.”

TeamPage™ is deployed in technology, manufacturing, finance and government organizations to address pervasive information-sharing needs.
